The upgraded F-14B(U) Tomcat has arrived in DCS World, bringing GPS-guided JDAM precision strike capability. That raises an interesting alternate-history question: could a small flight of modernized Tomcats have succeeded where 871 U.S. combat sorties during the Vietnam War failed?
In this mission, we recreate the infamous attack on the Thanh Hรณa (Dragon’s Jaw) Bridge, one of the toughest targets of Operation Rolling Thunder. Armed with JDAMs, our F-14s must fight through intense AAA, deadly SA-2 surface-to-air missiles, and aggressive MiG-21 interceptors to deliver a precision strike.
Can modern precision-guided munitions rewrite history, or will Vietnam-era air defences prevail?

After last weekโs F-35A AIM-260 vs J-35 PL-15 battle, we are raising the stakes with a full squadron engagement: USAF F-22 Raptors armed with AIM-260 JATM missiles vs Chinese J-20 Mighty Dragons carrying the new PL-16.
This is stealth-on-stealth, beyond-visual-range combat at its most brutal. First shot matters, but so does timing, missile energy, defensive manoeuvring and knowing when to turn cold before the sky fills with incoming missiles.
The F-22 Raptor brings stealth, speed and air-dominance pedigree. The AIM-260 gives it the long-range punch needed for modern peer-level combat.
On the other side, the J-20 Mighty Dragon enters the fight with Chinaโs emerging long-range missile threat: the PL-16. Details remain largely reported or rumoured, but it is believed to be designed for serious long-range BVR combat and internal carriage by stealth fighters.
So the question is simple:
Can the J-20 and PL-16 challenge the F-22 with AIM-260, or does the Raptor still rule the skies?

What could a modern U.S. first strike on Cuba look like?
In this fictional DCS World WarGames scenario, the opening phase of a large-scale air and naval campaign begins over western Cuba. Tomahawk cruise missiles launch from an Ohio-class SSGN, B-2 Spirit bombers strike the Cuban Navy, F-35As conduct SEAD/DEAD missions, B-1Bs crater key runways, while F-22 Raptors provide overwatch and EA-18G Growlers dominate the electronic battlespace.
A huge modern warfare simulation featuring stealth bombers, cruise missiles, air defence suppression, naval strikes and joint-force planning.
Swedish Gripens armed with Meteor missiles could become a major upgrade for Ukraineโs air combat capability โ but how would they actually perform against Russiaโs long-range heavy hitters?
In this DCS World simulation, we put JAS 39C Gripens over the Black Sea against Su-35s and MiG-31s equipped with dangerous long-range missiles like the R-77M and R-37M.
Can the Gripen and Meteor combination challenge Russian BVR dominance, or will the Su-35 and MiG-31 still control the skies?
