Could Argentina & Russia Take The Falklands Islands From UK In 2026? | DCS & Sea Power

Could Argentina retake the Falkland Islands in 2026 — with Russian military assistance?

In this DCS World and Sea Power wargame, we simulate a hypothetical modern Falklands conflict between Argentina, the United Kingdom and Russia.

Inspired by recent comments from Argentine President Javier Milei about the Falkland Islands, this military simulation explores whether the Argentine Navy and Argentine Air Force could challenge British forces and seize the islands in a modern-day conflict.

Argentina launches an all-out assault using its MEKO 140 and MEKO 360 warships alongside F-16 fighter aircraft. The UK responds with a powerful force based around RAF Mount Pleasant, including Meteor-equipped Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4s, Sky Sabre air defence systems, Type 45 destroyers, Type 23 frigates and a Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier operating F-35B Lightning II jets.

Then the conflict escalates.

Russia enters the war from the north, deploying Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates armed with P-800 Oniks supersonic anti-ship missiles against the Royal Navy task force. Beneath the South Atlantic, British Astute-class nuclear-powered attack submarines hunt Russian Yasen-M submarines in a dangerous underwater battle.

With modern fighter aircraft, warships, submarines, missiles and air defence systems all entering the fight, who would win a hypothetical 2026 battle for the Falkland Islands?

From the GR Archives: Iran–Iraq War Dynamic Campaign

We’re heading back into the Grim Reapers archives to revisit one of our older DCS campaign series — The Iran–Iraq War Dynamic Campaign.

Set during the Iran–Iraq War of the 1980s, this 11-part Desert Campaign follows the conflict as it develops mission by mission, with each episode building on what happened before.

The campaign begins with Day 1: Rude Welcome to the Region, before escalating into Tomcat hunts, major ground battles, tactical pushes and an increasingly intense fight for control of the desert.

Day 1: Rude Welcome to the Region

The opening mission throws us straight into the action and sets the scene for everything that follows.

We’ll be sharing some highlights from this first mission below, giving you a taste of the campaign before you head over to watch the full series.

If you missed the Iran–Iraq War Dynamic Campaign when it was originally released — or simply fancy watching it again — the complete series is available to watch from the beginning.

Across the 11 missions, the situation develops continuously as both sides fight for control of the battlefield, making this a great campaign to binge from start to finish.

Good Fun Old Style GR Mission: Greeks Fighting Turks Over Cyprus | DCS

The Grim Reapers head back to 1974 for a large-scale DCS campaign mission set during a fictionalised Cyprus crisis.

With hostile forces advancing across the island, GR members must coordinate a complex mixture of offensive and defensive operations. Strike aircraft are tasked with attacking enemy ground units, combat air patrols defend the skies, and transport crews attempt vital supply drops to friendly forces.

Success depends on communication, timing and teamwork as each group navigates the island’s terrain, shifting threats and the usual Grim Reapers tactical confusion.

It is classic, old-style GR: a big scenario, multiple aircraft, plenty of moving parts and absolutely no guarantee that everything will go according to plan.

GR3 is the home of full-length DCS Member Missions, taking you from the opening briefing through the complete operation and final debriefing.

Gripens & Meteors Taking On Su-35 & MiG-31 Over the Black Sea | DCS World

Swedish Gripens armed with Meteor missiles could become a major upgrade for Ukraine’s air combat capability — but how would they actually perform against Russia’s long-range heavy hitters?

In this DCS World simulation, we put JAS 39C Gripens over the Black Sea against Su-35s and MiG-31s equipped with dangerous long-range missiles like the R-77M and R-37M.

Can the Gripen and Meteor combination challenge Russian BVR dominance, or will the Su-35 and MiG-31 still control the skies?

DRAG RACE: 1940’s-1960’s Fighters – How Much Did Aircraft Improve Over 20 Years? | DCS

Experience an epic fighter aircraft drag race in DCS World featuring the newly released F-100D Super Sabre! We put some of the fastest military aircraft from the late WWII, Korean War, and early Cold War eras head-to-head in a low-level 5-mile speed challenge to see just how rapidly fighter technology evolved between the 1940s and 1950s.

Competing in this high-speed showdown are legendary aircraft including the F-100D Super Sabre, MiG-21, MiG-19, FW-190 D9 (Focke-Wulf 190 Dora), and Bf 109 K-4. From powerful piston-engine warbirds to early jet fighters and supersonic-era aircraft, this race highlights one of the most dramatic periods of aviation history.

In just 15 years, fighter aircraft top speeds nearly quadrupled. Which aircraft will dominate the drag strip and claim the title of fastest fighter in DCS World?
