Canadian Frigates & Hydrofoils vs Soviet Submarines | Sea Power Multiplayer Battle

Today we jump into a Sea Power multiplayer Cold War naval warfare scenario, pitting Canadian ASW frigates and Sea King helicopters against a deadly force of Soviet nuclear submarines in the North Atlantic.

Cap and the boys command a Canadian Cold War task force consisting of four ASW frigates and a hydrofoil, with two frigates carrying Sea King anti-submarine helicopters. Our primary weapon is the reliable Mk 46 lightweight torpedo, and our mission is to locate and destroy the Soviet submarines before they can overwhelm the fleet.

Canadian Anti-Submarine Warfare Task Force

The Canadian Cold War task force includes:

  • 4 × ASW frigates
  • 1 × Hydrofoil
  • Sea King anti-submarine helicopters carried by two frigates
  • Mk 46 lightweight torpedoes

Our mission is to locate and destroy the Soviet submarines before they can overwhelm the fleet.

Soviet Nuclear Submarine Forces

Davros commands the Soviet side, featuring three nuclear-powered submarines:

  • Alfa-class submarine
  • Victor II-class submarine
  • Victor III-class submarine

The ultra-fast Alfa-class submarine joins the highly capable Victor II and Victor III classes to challenge the Canadian task force.

Cold War Submarine Hunting in the North Atlantic

What follows is a tense game of detecting, counter-detecting and submarine hunting across the North Atlantic.

Every sonar contact could be the enemy, and once the first torpedoes are launched, the Cold War quickly turns into total war.
